Seems like Far Cry: Primal won’t be the only game to have Denuvo Anti-Tamper technology, according to a thread on Reddit, Rise of the Tomb Raider’s header image was discovered on Codefusion’s tech support website. For those who don’t know, the aforementioned domain belongs to Denuvo’s very own Reinhard Blaukovitsch. Although the link given on Reddit doesn’t work anymore, the conclusion about Rise of the Tomb Raider having Denuvo is very simple; the game is being published by Square Enix and for those who don’t know, Just Cause 3 was also published by Square Enix and had the Denuvo Anti-Tamper technology.
Like stated in several articles, Denuvo is something of a bother for pirates now, games that previously used to get cracked in a day or two are being stalled for months; take Just Cause 3 for instance, the game was originally released on 1st December, last year. It’s been over a month and there’s no sign of any cracked version on the internet. That being said, with more aggressive behaviour from the publishers and developers, there is likely to be a bigger blow-back from all the crackers. When? We don’t know about that.
Rise of the Tomb Raider releases on PC on 28th January, later this month. The game is already available on Xbox One and Xbox 360, the PS4 release will happen somewhere in the 4th quarter. Let us know what you guys think about the decisions to choose Denuvo.
