Fallout 4, despite being a great game, is pretty abysmal when it comes to performance. Even when paired with a GTX 970 and Core i5 4690K, the frame-rate ends up dropping to 19-18 frames per second in some cases. We don’t know who to blame really blame here; Bethesda or an overly outdated engine. Whatever the case is, the issue can get really annoying.

Luckily, there are modders and tweakers who are working relentlessly in order to give us the best possible performance in Fallout 4. A similar tweak has been done by Nexus Mods user who goes by the name TERSO. According to him, this tweaks the shadows as well as the fog in the game that are the main cause of horrible performance in Fallout 4. He gave a comparison shot to show how big the difference is using the tweak, you can check it out below.

The installation process is rather simple, all you need to do is download the file from here and unpack it, once done, simply open the text file and follow the instructions. Do keep in mind that you need to set pref.ini to read only.
