A big year for Sony, the company recently announced that the hit PlayStation 4 console has crossed the sale of 30 million units worldwide, this isn’t a surprise as Sony’s PlayStation was warmly welcomed by critics as well as the users. Andrew House, the president and global CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. stated the following in the official press release:
“We are sincerely grateful that gamers across the globe have continued to choose PS4 as the best place to play since launch two years ago. We are committed to bringing engaging games and entertainment services to users worldwide. Thanks to the support of our partners, PS4 continues to be the premier platform for game and interactive entertainment innovation.”
According to Sony, the PlayStation 4 is the “the fastest and strongest growth in PlayStation hardware history.” The stats have been gathered since the launch of PS4 2 years ago, this means that the PlayStation 4 sold over 30 million units worldwide, not shipped. The PlayStation 4 is currently available and strong in 124 countries and regions.
