The Xperia Z5 and Z5 Comapct weren’t the only phones that were unveiled today, Sony also had another phone in the making, the Xperia Z5 Premium; the Z5 Premium is world’s first phone that comes with a 4K screen, that’s not all, the phone also comes with a heavily improved camera, well, according to Sony that is.
The Z5 Premium has an IPS Triluminous display that has a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, that’s 4 times your ordinary FHD resolution, the resolution results in a staggering 806ppi. Users can now truly enjoy the 4K content being offered by YouTube or Netflix without any issues. The Z5 Premium comes with a 1/2.3″ Exmor RS sensor and the 23 megapixel sensor, the camera will be borrowing some tech from Sony’s α lineup of high end lenses.
The camera features an extremely fast focus with the focus time of just .03 seconds, this means that the phone will be able to get perfect shots even in action packed moments. Sony also stated that the camera will be featuring clearer night photos with 5x digital zoom that won’t result in a drastic loss in quality. On the front, you’ll get a 5 megapixel wide angle lens to help you take better self-portraits.
The phone will come with a stainless steel frame, unless the one used in the Z5 and Z5C. Sony’s finally let go off the glossy back and chose the frosty back, the phone will be available in black, gold and a rather unique chrome option. The phone will have IP certification against dust and water. Just like the younger siblings, the Z5 Premium will be featuring a fingerprint sensor built right into the power button.
Rest of the specs remain the same, the phone will be going on sale in November, however, we still don’t have any official word on the pricing of the device.
