LG rolled out a brand new mid-range tablet for the South Korean market today and is called the LG G Pad 2 8.0 and is the successor of the successful of the popular LG G Pad 8.0 tab that was launched last year in June. The LG G Pad 2 8.0 has no significant improvements in terms of hardware and the performance is pretty much the same as that of its predecessor. If we look at the complete specs, you won’t find anything big.

The LG G Pad 2 8.0 comes with an 8 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 px IPS display with an additional protection of Gorilla Glass 3. The tablet is powered by the same Snapdragon 400 chipset as in its predecessor and has a quad core 1.2 GHz Cortex A-7 processor, Adreno 305 GPU and it comes with 1.5 GB of RAM. This time, the internal storage is doubled at 32GB and has a Micro SD slot that supports additional storage up to 128 GB. The tab has a rear camera of 5 MP and a front facing camera of 2 MP. The tab is running on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box and comes with GSM/3G/LTE support and has a thin capacitive stylus as well.
The device also comes with a non-removable Li-ion battery of 4200 mAh and it comes in two colors Black and White. The main key feature of this device is, it comes with a full sized USB 2.0 port which you can use to connect external keyboard, mouse or flash drives.
Besides that, the tab comes with the improved version of Quick Memo App, Knock Code, Qpair and fully optimized Microsoft Office and some other premium apps. The device is only available in South Korean market at the moment and there is no word yet on the international release, but since its predecessor went into the global market we have high hopes that this one will reach there as well.
