Yesterday we showed you leaked screenshots and concept art of the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and they were gorgeous. Since it was a leak, the information present at that time was scarce. However, Square Enix just officially confirmed the game, it is currently being developed by Eidos Montreal and will be hitting PC, PS4 and Xbox One. We weren’t given any more details but knowing that it exists and is very much happening is a sigh of relief.
That’s not all, we were also given some details along with a trailer. Let’s take a look at the trailer first.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided takes place in the year 2029, 2 years after the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The protagonist Adam Jensen is back and he’s twice as bad ass this time. From the trailer and the leaked screen shots we have seen, the steampunk world is back and the game will be having a black and gold sort of colour scheme which really looked good in the Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Below is the official press statement:
“For 15 years, Deus Ex has been a point of conversation across the games industry and beyond,” says David Anfossi, Head of Studio, Eidos-Montréal, “whether the topic is the franchise’s unique gameplay or topical narrative focused on advanced biotechnology and human augmentation. What began with Deus Ex: Human Revolution goes to a whole new level in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, diving even deeper into this discussion and, in turn, offering fans an all-encompassing experience, one which will challenge their skills as players and emphasize decision-making based on real world topics.”
It was also stated that this game will have more choices as compared to Human Revolution. No word on the release date but we’ll surely update you as soon as there’s more news. Stay tuned.
