Despite the fact that Samsung has released the official Android 5.0 Lollipop on Galaxy S4 i9505 a while ago. However, if you are one of the several people who like to keep things clean and simple and prefer the stock Android experience better; there’s a good news for you. Users can now update their Galaxy S4 i9505 to CM12.1 that is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Just follow the simple guide below.
Note: Before you proceed, make sure your phone is rooted with custom recovery. Also make sure you are flashing this on the specified model which is “Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505”. TechJeep will not be responsible for any damage done to your device during the process.
- GApps for CM12.1; download from here.
- Download the Android 5.1 ROm from here.
- Rooted phone with custom recovery.
How To Install Android 5.1 Lollipop on Galaxy S4 i9505:
Step 1: Download the files from above and copy them in your phone’s SD card.
Step 2: Once copied, reboot to your recovery; turn off your phone > press and hold volume up + power + home button together until you are in the recovery.
Step 3: Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
Step 4: Select ‘Install Zip From SD Card’.
Step 5: Choose the ROM first and flash it.
Step 6: Once the ROM has been flashed, flash the GApps.
Step 7: Simply reboot your device after you’re done flashing both files.
Keep in mind that the first boot takes up to 5 minute so don’t go on doing a factory reset again and again. For more details; follow the original thread.
