Apparently, this guide only for the T-Mobile variant of the phone that goes by the name SM-G920T and according to Chainfire, it’s also been tested and working on the Galaxy S6 Edge. Do know that this rooting method will trip of Samsung KNOX so if you’re concerned about your warranty, wait for a rooting method that doesn’t mess up the KNOX. Apart from that, there is also a possibility that you might lose the functionality of phone based payments so it is advised to proceed with caution..
Let’s take a look at how to root T-Mobile Galaxy S6.

Step 1: Download the latest version of Odin flash tool and CF-Auto-Root package from the links given below. Don’t forget to extract both files.
Step 2: Now switch of your phone and boot into download mode. This can be done by pressing volume down, home and power button together till you see a warning on your phone screen. Simply press the power button and access download mode.
Step 3: Open Odin that you downloaded earlier and connect your phone using the micro USB cable, the Odin will turn yellow/blue.
Step 4: Click on the PDA button and navigate to the folder where you have extracted the CF-Auto-Root package and select it. Odin will load it.
Step 5: Once the file is loaded, click on the ‘Start’ button and the flashing process will begin.
Step 6: The flashing process will only take a minute or so and once it’s done, your phone will reboot into recovery; reboot your phone normally from there and you’ll be all set.
