Last year’s Galaxy S5 came with Samsung’s own camera sensor. Seems like the case is different with Samsung’s Galaxy S6 that was revealed yesterday. We were both impressed and disappointed by the phone but that doesn’t mean it didn’t live up to the expectations. Samsung is now using Sony’s IMX240 camera sensor in both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. This news was confirmed by PhoneArena. This isn’t the first time Samsung decided to go for Sony’s camera. The Galaxy S4 used Sony’s IMX135.
However, the front facing camera is still made by Samsung which isn’t that surprising since more focus is given to the rear camera.
