Mobile World Congress is just a day away and it is one of the biggest events in the mobile industry. While the companies are gearing up for debuting their latest devices, fans all over the world are hoping that they get to see a lot of amazing devices. Which they will. So far, we have a list of confirmed and unconfirmed devices that will be making a debut at the MWC tomorrow. However, several OEMs, like Sony for instance are keeping things in dark as of yet.
The event will be taking place in Barcelona tomorrow and we will be providing full coverage for all the major OEMs that will be announcing their devices as well as our thoughts on how pleased we are. There will be a lot of product announcements in next few days and it is very easy to get confused among all the announcements. So without further ado, let’s take a look at all the announcements at MWC 2015 as well as their timings below:
Samsung is simply the largest smartphone manufacturer in the mobile industry and one of the most successful one as well. Their Galaxy series no doubt is the most amazing smartphone series. However, the series had some ups and downs. For example; their current flagship; the Galaxy S5 failed to perform in the market. The company quickly rectified by releasing Note 4 and Note 4 Edge, and without any surprise, both the devices were a it. They were the first in Galaxy Note family to have a metal frame.
Apparently, this time, we are looking at 3-5 devices from Samsung. Two of them will be Tizen devices, one tablet and 2 phones. We are expecting that Samsung will be revealing the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge as well as Samsung Z1 and Z2 that are Tizen based and on the last, Samsung might announce Galaxy Tab S2 but it is still a rumour. You can catch the event at 18:30 Spain time and 2:30 NewYork time.
Looks like Samsung isn’t the only one who will be coming with flagships. Seems like HTC is also bringing 2 flagships this time as well as a wearable device called HTC Petra. But for now; let’s discuss the HT One M9 and HTC One M9 Plus. The One M9 will essentially be an upgraded and more refined HTC One M8. We will see additional RAM as well as upgraded camera sensors. We are not too sure about the screen size/resolution but if HTC decides to stick to the old specs, we won’t be disappointed.
Next up, we are hoping that HTC might also come up with a phablet version of HTC One M9. The rumoured phablet will carry the same specifications but will have Super LCD 3 with QHD resolution; the screen size is rumoured to be 5.5 inches. The camera on both devices is speculated to tbe 20.7 megapixel on the back and on the front, we will have 5 megapixel camera with HTC’s proprietary UltraPixel technology. We haven’t had a glimpse on One M9 but the HTC One M9 looks fantastic in the picture below.
The timing for HTC’s conference is; March 1, 16:00 Barcelona / 10:00 New York / 23:00 Taipei.
Ever since Nokia stopped existing and Microsoft took charge of the Lumia brand, we have been really excited to anticipate what’s to come. Apparently, the Redmond based giants will be bringing two new phones this year. The Lunia 635 and the Lumia 1330. Lumia 635 will be the upgrade to the already available Lumia 635. However, with increased RAM. As for the rest of the specs, they will stay the same. The other device that will be brought to the table by MIcrosoft is going to be Lumia 1330, it is supposed to be the successor to Lumia 1320. As for the specs, the reports so far suggested that Lumia 1330 will be having a 5.7 inches of 720p display, a Snapdragon 400, 1 gig of RAM, 32 gigs of on-board storage. The alleged specs point towards a 14 megapixel main camera and a 5 megapixel front facing camera.
Microsoft will be taking the stage on March 2, 8:30 Barcelona / 02:30 New York.
Despite the circulating speculations about Sony leaving the smartphone business, the Japanese giant is planning on making its presence felt at the MWC. The company is playing on bringing a mid-ranger Xperia M4 Aqua as well as Xperia Z4 Tablet. We are not sure about the specs of either the devices but we do have an image of how the design looks on the 4th generation of Xperia devices. Xperia Z4 is nowhere to be seen but we are hoping that Sony reconsiders quitting the smartphone market.
Seems like LG doesn’t have any smartphone planned for this year’s MWC as the company will be bringing the LG Watch Urban LTE. The watch will be running on LG’s own platform and will be featuring voice calls using the LTE feature. It’ll also come with a plethora of premium features. Take a look at the gorgeous watch below.
